NEW FIMO SILICONE MOLDS

As it does every year, in 2017 Staedtler started with production of the new FIMO tools. This time they surprised us with eight silicone push molds that will help us during making of the different shapes - hearts, flowers, stars, feathers, bows, buttons, gems and cameos.
All molds are made of solid silicone, and their size is about seven centimeters (2.7 inches) in diameter. The smallest forms in those eight molds is long around eight millimeters (0.3 inches), and the largest about 45 millimeters (1.7 inches).
Making forms with these molds is very simple. All you have to do is to press piece of clay into a desired shape, and then to cut off the excess of the clay to make flat background. After that you can remove clay from mold, and you're done.
I'll admit - I'm not a fan of industrial made molds. Although I do not use molds often, when I need them I prefer to make them by myself. But, these new FIMO molds are very interesting. So interesting that even I'm thinking to include some of the its forms into some of my new polymer clay pieces. Here are some photos of creations made with new FIMO molds, but note that you'll have a better view of the molds in this video.
